Activity - A single configurable step within a workflow that can perform tasks such as interacting with Laserfiche entries.
Annotation - A way to add comments or notes to documents within Laserfiche, including sticky notes, highlights, and text boxes.
Audit Reports - Reports generated to track user activities within the Laserfiche repository, providing insights into actions taken and their compliance.
Audit Trail - A feature that tracks actions taken on documents and entries, providing reports on user activity for compliance and security purposes.
Auto-classification - A feature that automatically assigns metadata and categorizes documents when they are added to the repository, simplifying content organization.
Batch Scanning - The process of scanning multiple documents at once, which can include automatic image adjustments to improve quality.
Briefcase - A collection of documents that can be downloaded and later re-imported into the repository, preserving their structure and metadata.
Bulk Import - The process of automatically importing multiple files from a designated location into a Laserfiche repository.
Capture - The process of importing documents into Laserfiche using various methods, including scanning and importing electronic files.
Capture Profiles - Settings that determine how documents are classified and processed when they are imported into Laserfiche.
Document Summarization - An AI feature that generates summaries of repository files, helping users quickly understand document contents.
Document Viewer - An interface in Laserfiche that allows users to view documents, metadata, and annotations.
Entry - A term that refers to any imaged or electronic file stored within the Laserfiche repository, including documents and folders.
Field - A specific piece of information about a document, used to improve organization and searchability. 
Form Templates - Pre-configured forms used in processes to collect consistently formatted data from users
Integration - The ability to connect Laserfiche with other software, such as CRM systems or data sources, to enhance functionality and streamline workflows.
Live Reports - Real-time metrics and data visualization that provide insights into ongoing business processes and their performance.
Metadata - Additional information associated with documents and folders, which can include fields, templates, and tags that provide context or categorization.
Metadata Pane: - The interface area in Laserfiche where users can view and edit additional information associated with documents, such as properties, tags, and workflows.
OCR (Optical Character Recognition) - Technology used to convert different types of documents, such as scanned paper documents, into editable and searchable data.
Process Automation -  A suite of features that allows users to automate repetitive tasks and workflows, reducing manual effort and human error.
Public Portal -  A feature that allows for read-only access to documents in Laserfiche, enabling external users to view specific content.
Records Management -  A suite of features that allows organizations to manage records throughout their lifecycle, including retention and disposition policies.
Repository -  The central location in Laserfiche where documents, folders, and their associated metadata are stored and managed.
Retention Schedule -  A predefined timeline that indicates how long records should be kept and when they should be disposed of, important for compliance and records management.
Rules Management -  A function that allows users to define decision-making criteria and automate processes across multiple workflows.
SAML Authentication - A method of single sign-on that allows users to authenticate to Laserfiche using Security Assertion Markup Language protocols 
Security Tags -  Markers that allow for document-level security controls, determining who can access or edit specific entries within Laserfiche.
Search -  The functionality within Laserfiche that enables users to locate documents based on different criteria like text, metadata, and annotations.
Smart Chat - An AI assistant feature that provides users with quick access to insights and answers based on their queries within Laserfiche.
Smart Fields -  A feature that automatically extracts and populates data from documents using Artificial Intelligence, streamlining data entry and processing.
Template -  A collection of related fields that can be applied to documents to assign multiple pieces of metadata at once.
Transcription - The process of converting audio and video content into readable text, enabling search functionality within media files
User Options -  Configuration settings that allow users to customize their experience in Laserfiche, including preferences for display, document handling, and searching.
User Roles - Defined permissions that determine what actions a user or group of users can perform within the Laserfiche repository.
Workflow - A sequence of automated tasks carried out in Laserfiche to streamline processes, including data extraction, document routing, and notifications.
Workflow Instance - A specific occurrence of a workflow that can be in various states, such as running, suspended, completed, or terminated.
