How To Configure And Run An Audit Report

How to configure and run an audit report.

If there are any unfamiliar terms within this article, please consult our glossary

An audit report is a customizable tool that allows users to view, filter, and export audit information related to activities performed within the repository. Audit reports serve as a vital tool for monitoring repository activity, ensuring compliance, and enhancing security within the Laserfiche environment.

Administrators can use repository reports to monitor and manage activity, which includes reviewing security applications within the repository.

Audit Report Configuration

Auditing is configured in the Users section of Repository Administration. You can specify which actions to audit, such as success, failure, or both, and require users to provide reasons for certain actions, such as document deletion or export.

To configure your audit report:

  • Navigate to the App Picker > Repository Administration > Users

You can click on Users, Groups or Everyone to configure auditing options.

  • Click on the name of the user or group whose audit settings you want to configure.
  • Select the Auditing tab.

You can choose to clear the option Inherit audit settings from group membership if you want to set independent audit settings for the user. If left selected, the user's audit settings will be determined by their group membership.

You can select whether to log successful actions, failed attempts, or both. This allows you to track various actions performed in the repository.

Finally, you can configure auditing to require users to provide a reason when they delete, export, or print a document.
