Expected Progress is used in Cascade to set progress points within your goal's timeline and help you keep pace with where you expect to be at any given point in time. If you have updated your progress and it is where it is expected to be your goal will show as 'On Track', if your goal's progress is not where you have set yourself to be, the goal will show as 'Behind'. To set your expected progress, follow the following steps.

  • Click on the goal title to bring up the sidebar
  • Click on the blue dot with the '<' sign in it in the top left corner of the sidebar to access the 'Goal Hub'
  • Click on the 'Tracking' tab at the top of the page
  • Click on 'Edit Expected Progress'

Beneath the table that will appear when you set up expected progress points is a 'Save' button, do not forget to click it once you have set your expected progress.

There are 3 ways you can set your expected progress points.
  1. By clicking on 'Add Point', then selecting 'Add Point' from the dropdown. You can do this as many times as you like to add as many points as you require. (eg. If your target is 4 milestones as you have 4 distinct stages to complete your goal, add 4 points and set their due dates within the goal's timeline in the expected progress table) If you add too many, click on the 'x' to the right of each expected progress row.
  2. By clicking on 'Add Point' and selecting one of the set expected progress timelines (week/month/quarter/year) your goal's target will be divided by the number of timeline points (eg. if your goal's timeline is 12 months, your goal's target is 120 and you set your expected progress timeline to monthly, your goal will expect that your progress will be updated by 10 each month or your goal will show as 'Behind'. If you set the expected progress timeline to quarterly, your goal will expect that your progress will be updated by 30 each quarter or your goal will show as 'Behind'.
  3. By creating 'Tasks' and setting the task due dates to be within the goal's start and due date, then clicking on 'Add Point' and selecting 'Reset to Task Due Date'. This will align your expected progress points with the due dates of your tasks.

You can edit the table that displays your expected progress points by clicking in the shaded cells and altering the numbers or dates. *To edit the final date you must edit the goal's due date, to edit the final target you must edit the goal's target.
